In order to properly inspect and advise companies, labour inspectors must have sufficient information at their disposal. Detailed information is required on a daily basis and on site at the companies.

The German Statutory Accident Insurance for the Trade and Logistics Industries (Berufsgenossenschaft Handel und Warenlogistik ‒ BGHW) provides an app for such information and for documenting the inspections. All BGHW labour inspectors work with an iPad on which all relevant information about the companies and about accidents and illnesses in the companies are accessible.

Based on an integrated artificial intelligence (AI) supported speech recognition, defects can directly be recorded in the app when documenting the inspection, and corresponding letters can be sent to the companies. Thanks to an internet connection in combination with the services of BGHW, immediate assistance can be provided as part of the consultation process. Monitoring and advice are therefore fully digital-ised, AI-supported and synchronised with the database of the BGHW.
